Annexations

Join Our District

NEW (April 2024)

If you are not a part of the fire district but would like to be, please contact our office and fill out an annexation form. The situation involving annexations has evolved recently as a closer relationship with Mohave County has clarified eligibility requirements and illuminated new avenues for residents to join the District. The boundaries of the District are also changing as new annexations are recorded by the County.

If your property was disqualified in the past, please feel free try again. It is possible that you may be eligible now.

Also note that we have updated the annexation form. You may download the new form by clicking the link below. When completed, the form must be signed with a blue or black pen and either brought to our office at Station 41 or mailed to us. Instructions are available at the bottom of the page.

Meadview Residents

If you are a resident of Meadview or Mead City, AZ, there is a possibility that you are not a part of the Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire District. This means that your taxes are not being used to support our local fire department.

What does this mean? If a property not within LMRFD has a structure fire, then the full cost of the fire suppression efforts will be billed to the property owners. This can be as much as $20,000 or more depending on the resources used.

To find out if you’re eligible, fill out the annexation form and call us at 928-767-3300 or email at info@lmrfd.org for more information.

The annexation form must be filled out to the best of your knowledge and requires the legal description of the property. If you have multiple parcels, an annexation form must be submitted for each one.

Submit Forms

There two ways to submit your completed forms.

1. Drop them off at: 16126 Pierce Ferry Rd, Dolan Springs AZ 86441, Monday through Friday, 10am to 3pm.

2. Mail them to us at: PO Box 611, Dolan Springs AZ 86441

Board Meeting

After your annexation form or forms have been submitted, the LMRFD Board members will have to vote to accept your request. This is normally done during the regular monthly meetings, which are the 3rd Thursday of every month. You are not required to attend the meeting if you choose not to.

Wait

Once the Board votes to accept your annexation request(s), then the Board Clerk will submit the documentation to Mohave County to be recorded and processed. Once this is done, it is no longer in LMRFD hands. Any further inquiries will have to go to Mohave County. It may take up to 6 months for the County to finalize the annexations. However, you are protected from the date the paperwork is filed with the county.
