About the LMRFD
Serving small remote communities in NW Arizona
The LMRFD Fire , Rescue and Emergency Medical/Ambulance service, which operates as the Dolan Springs Fire District, is funded in part by taxpayers in a 144 sq. mi. area in Dolan Springs, along with scattered properties in the Meadview area. The LMRFD Ambulance service covers over 2200 sq. miles of NW Arizona and contributes approximately half the funding for the District. Combined revenues support 2 full-time and 1 part-time fire and EMS personnel, including a Chief and part-time administrative support. The LMRFD relies heavily upon volunteers.

*LMRFD is governed by a 5 person elected volunteer Board.
*LMRFD is supported by property tax payers in the 144 + sq. mile fire district, and the LMRFD ambulance service, roughly 50/50.
*LMRFD Certificate of Necessity (C.O.N.) for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service established 1983, covers 2200+ square miles NW Arizona. Includes Hwy 93 from Hoover Dam to near Chloride junction; Pierce Ferry Rd. from Hwy 93 to Colorado River and all points in between.
*Combined tax and ambulance revenue support 2 full time Firefighter/Paramedics, 1 full time Fire Chief/Paramedic, 1 part time office Administrator, stationed in Dolan, and required professional, financial and legal support . Additionally, approximately 17 days a month are covered with 1 FF/Paramedic in Meadview.
*LMRFD relies on volunteer firefighter support as the 2 on duty personnel are frequently out on extended ambulance calls.

*How to calculate your FD Tax:
Find your "Assessed Value" on your tax bill, multiply by .0375 (3.75%) and that will give you your proposed FD tax.
*What is the "Fire District Assistance Tax"? FDAT is a separate County tax regulated by A.R.S. 48-807, to be disbursed among Fire Districts based on their tax base. LMRFD's portion is currently about $90,000/yr
