Due to critical fire weather conditions, including high temperatures, low humidity, dry vegetation, and sustained winds, Mohave County has enacted fire restrictions for all four Fire Zones within the unincorporated areas of the county. Our LMRFD Fire Chief Tim Bonnee applied for the CDBG Grant through Mohave County, for an upgrade to the fire station in Dolan. It would add 2 climate controlled bays with bathrooms that can be used for disaster relief shelter for our communities, among other things. Chief Bonnee reported at the January 15 Board meeting that Dolan Springs resident Michele Waldman is donating $10,000 to the Power Gurney for Meadview effort, leaving it short by approximately $6,300. Chief and the Financial Dept. reported at the December meeting a total of $5,469 received through Power Gurney fundraisers, promoted by Charlotte Kiffer and participated in by LMRFD personnel and Board members as well as donations by local businesses and individuals.
