From the October Chief's Report

Chief Bonnee has reported a total of 127 calls for September, with 17 of those being in Meadview, 17 on Hwy 93, and 11 of them fire calls. Meadview had a total of 17 days of coverage in September.
Chief reported that the District vehicle, red pickup U-439, was in an accident with a cow, totaling the truck. Insurance is to pay $17,000 to the District.
Chief reported a successful turnout with a total of $2,551 received from the Volunteer Benefit Pancake Breakfast/Brunch held October 10. That includes brunch donations, both auctions and $$ received from the Dolan Springs Community Council in Dolan. Michele Waldman of Dolan Springs was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for her donation to complete the purchase of the power gurney for the LMRFD ambulance stationed in Meadview.
Chief also reported receiving a check in the amount of $1,040.62 for the metal in the Big Green Bin. There have been 3 full ones dumped so far and a 4th is currently in place. These funds also will be deposited to the Volunteer Scholarship effort.
It has been heartwarming to see the community step up and contribute to help expand and improve the services they receive from the LMRFD. Now we just need some local volunteers who might like to make a career in the fire/EMS field.
Chief reported the LMRFD will be having their annual Trunk or Treat activity, Thursday the 29th from 4-7 p.m. All are welcome!
Chief reported that AFG grants will be opening soon and he will be applying for the tender again, as well as extrication equipment. LMRFD is receiving two type 3 engines from National Park service. They will be used to augment coverage in Meadview and as well as Dolan.
