Community Development Block Grant

Our LMRFD Fire Chief Tim Bonnee applied for the CDBG Grant through Mohave County, for an upgrade to the fire station in Dolan. It would add 2 climate controlled bays with bathrooms that can be used for disaster relief shelter for our communities, among other things. The LMRFD has qualified and awaits the final determination by the County Board of Supervisors at their meeting this Tuesday, February 17. Anyone who wants to can go and speak in behalf of the LMRFD receiving the grant. It is item # 40 on their agenda

MOHAVE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

FEBRUARY 17, 2026 - 9:30 AM

700 W. BEALE STREET - KINGMAN, ARIZONA

You can call or email the Supervisors on the Board to encourage support of the LMRFD in their final grant decision. https://www.mohave.gov/departments/board-of-supervisors/

To be clear, the LMRFD did NOT previously receive a $70,000 CDBG grant as is falsely being claimed, AND the LMRFD IS on the qualifying list for this grant, as it appears claims are being made to the contrary. Here is info from the Mo Co page listing qualifying communities that clearly include Dolan Springs. In fact, of 10 qualifying communities, Dolan Springs is in the top 3, with at least one of those having received a CDBG grant in 2022. (Link here to Mohave County page)

List of CDBG grants from 2018-2024. LMRFD clearly is not included! (Thanks Linda Buda for this info)
