A Tribute to Innocence Lost on 9/11/2001
A last minute plan by Volunteer Coordinator Edgar Tolentino, supported by Fire Chief Tim Bonnee and participated in by LMRFD volunteers and personnel, was attended and appreciated by members of the Dolan Springs Community. The Memorial run of 4 LMRFD apparatus, including Fire Engine, Brush Truck, Tanker, and Ambulance, from Station 41 in Dolan Springs to the junction at Hwy 93 was well received by flag waving citizens along the route. With lights and sirens and flags flying, community members were reminded of the sad losses of that day 25 years ago. Human lives as well as our sense of imperviousness to invasion, whether foreign or domestic, were lost that day, and forever altered the trajectory of our National identity.
The Personnel and Management of the LMRFD continue to seek ways to better serve our communities. These are OUR first responder heroes who have chosen a career that puts their lives on the line every day, never knowing what the day will bring. Thank you for showing up!
