What is the Volunteer Scholarship Program?

It is for volunteers who prove themselves capable and want to advance in a fire/EMS career, the LMRFD Scholarship program will help them financially to achieve the necessary education and certifications. Volunteer Coordinator Edgar Tolentino is currently advancing through his EMT training on LMRFD Scholarship. He initially volunteered doing mechanic work on LMRFD vehicles. He achieved Fire I and II on his own dime and time so he could become one of our main Firefighting volunteers. He now serves as Volunteer Coordinator while taking his EMT training to become a paid employee of the LMRFD.
